Doc of Tuk Tuk

TUK TUK, ICON OF THAILAND VEHICLE.

Tuk Tuk, the icon of Thailand's vehicles. Tuk Tuk begins with Uncle Lern’s tricycle that is faster than a human dragging the rickshaw. In 1957, the early version of the Tuk Tuk was imported from Japan to Thailand to carry heavy goods and passengers, mostly in Yaowarat (Chinatown). Thais referred to them as tricycles with engines, but foreigners referred to them as Tuk Tuks. When Japanese Tuk Tuk factories stopped producing parts in the 1960s, the Thais began producing their own, upgrading them, and localizing the branding in Thailand. Thai’s Tuk Tuks are exported to many places around the world. The Tuk Tuk's open-air design allows passengers to experience an authentic Thai atmosphere, which is why it is regarded as one of the best taxis in the world.
